Kalkari Discovery Centre, Bobbin Head
Located within Ku-ring-gai National Park, Bobbin Head is a mecca for trail running, bush walking, canoeing and boating, fishing, road cycling plus picnics. So after a run, why not stay on and make the most of all that the Park has to offer.
ENTRY IS NOW CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.
Event Date: Saturday 24 October 2020
Start window: 9:30am to 11am
(we encourage participants who are at risk or especially vulnerable to COVID-19 to start early in each start block)
Start and Finish: Please note that there is a 500m walk to the start plus 500m back from the finish to the download (but lovely bush land and wallabies to see along the walk).
Meeting point: Kalkari Discovery Centre, 402 Ku-Ring-Gai Chase Rd, Mount Colah
NPWS fee: A park entry fee of $12 per car will also apply on entry to the Park for this event (unless you already have a National Park Annual Pass)
Courses:
In addition to our usual suite of courses (Warm Up, Score, Short Line, Long Line), for this event, we will be offering an extra course (Run Bobbo). It’s ideal if you are a trail runner and keen to try running with a map in hand. The course sticks to trails and open areas so you can run hard but you will need to try a little nav too. The course is a bit over 5km of running with plenty of climb, so don’t expect an easy day out.
The Warm Up course will be longer than usual – around 2km.
Course Closure: 12pm
Entry Limitations due to COVID: None at this stage.
Enter and pay below. Orienteering club members can also enter via Eventor (until 12pm Thursday 22 October). Everyone in attendance at the event (including spectators and group members) needs to register as part of our COVID Safe compliance.
There is a separate ticket available below for spectators and group members.
More information on SOS events including course options is available on the Saturday Orienteering Series web page.
